Kimbo Slice Passes Away At 42

Kimbo Slice passed away in a Florida hospital tonight at the age of 42, apparently due to heart failure.

TMZ Sports first reported earlier today that Kimbo was hospitalized in Coral Springs, Florida and that the situation didn't look good. He passed away shortly after.

Bellator CEO issued the following statement to TMZ:

"We are all shocked and saddened by the devastating untimely loss of Kimbo Slice, a beloved member of the Bellator family.

One of the most popular MMA fighters ever, Kimbo was a charismatic, larger-than-life personality that transcended the sport.

Outside of the cage he was a friendly, gentle giant and a devoted family man. HIs loss leaves us all with extremely heavy hearts, and our thoughts and prayers are with the entire Ferguson family and all of Kimbo's friends, fans and teammates."

Kimbo was slated to fight James Thompson at Bellator 158 on July 16, in a rematch from their infamous fight in 2008 that saw Thompson's cauliflower ear explode. Slice won the fight via TKO in the third round in what is one of the most watched fights in U.S. MMA history.

Kimbo last fought this past February, defeating Dhafir "Dada 5000" Harris via knockout in the third round. Harris' heart stopped and he technically died during the fight, and he was hospitalized for a week. Slice failed a drug test for nandralone and elevated testosterone levels, and the fight was overturned to a no-contest.

Focus on England, not transfers, Hodgson tells players

England manager Roy Hodgson has told his squad to forget about potential club transfers and focus on their Euro 2016 campaign.

With Leicester City striker Jamie Vardy the subject of a bid from Arsenal, according to British media, Hodgson has reportedly banned agents from the team hotel in Chantilly, though he is more concerned with players concentrating on the job at hand.

England open their Group B campaign against Russia on Saturday before facing Wales and Slovakia.

"Whether they (agents) come to the hotel or not is a moot point," he was quoted as saying on The Independent website. "They will be talking to the players face to face, on the phone or viaSkype or Facebook, who the hell knows?

"But one thing this group of players know and have accepted is that when you are on England duty, you are on England duty.

Hodgson added that if a player decided to move clubs while on England duty he would not be allowed to leave to undertake a medical.

"It is not a question of you sorting out your future, or diving off for medicals," he said.

"We control all of that and you have to accept there is a good chance that, if you say you want to go for a medical, that we will say, 'We are not allowing that and you better bring your people here'.

"We are not trying to block players' futures or transfers, but as far as we are concerned our ongoing theme is that England is England, your club is your club.

"While you are with England, we want you to stay focussed on us."
